Latex is everywhere in the mattress industry right now. It seems like every mattress manufacturer worth its salt is focusing on producing latex beds. But why? Why is everyone so excited about this material? This post will try to explain everything there is to know about the current latex craze in the mattress industry.

To start off, before you buy a latex mattress it’s important to keep in mind what you’re looking for as far as mattress life, firmness, and sleep positions. Be sure to pick a mattress that has at least a 5-year warranty. This is a key sign that is a mattress that will last, plus you should have a mattress that is firm or soft to your liking.

Even if you do not have a mattress that is firm or soft to your liking, ensure the mattress is designed to fit your body and sleeping positions. Often mattresses are not designed to fit your specific sleeping positions.

After creating a list of what you want from the mattress, it’s important to understand the benefits that latex brings:

Super Supportive

Unlike memory foam, Latex is buoyant and resilient, so you won’t experience that “sink-in feeling” that can make it hard to turn over in bed! Latex conforms, but also provides good support to keep your spine aligned.

Temperature Regulation

Latex is a temperature neutral material so it won’t store your body heat. It helps regulate your body temperature, offering a comfortable sleep that allows you to reduce middle of the night awakenings, and get the undisturbed rest you need to feel great in the morning!

Pressure Relief

Latex dynamically conforms to you, providing superior support and pressure relief. By gently conforming to your every contour, latex provides superior back support and outstanding pressure relief. Relieving pressure reduces the tossing and turning that interrupts sleep and brings needed oxygen and nutrients to tired aching muscles.

Heard enough? Not yet? Here’s some more information about latex mattresses:

Latex Mattresses are Eco-FriendlyOne of the biggest draws to latex mattresses is how natural they are. They avoid harsh chemicals, and some are even biodegradable.

Natural Latex Come from the Earth – Natural latex is harvested from rubber trees, and because it’s natural, there’s minimal off-gassing. 100% of natural latex mattresses are harvested from the tree, so there are no harsh chemicals in the mattress.

Latex is Well-Known for Being Comfortable – Latex foam mattresses are highly comfortable, because they’re springy and bounce back once pressure lifts off of them, but they also contour to the body. And unlike memory foam, latex mattresses don’t take long to reshape to the body after it moves.

Latex Mattresses are Naturally Cool – Latex mattresses are naturally cool, and don’t have the heating problems that some other mattresses can develop.

Latex mattresses are Durable – You don’t even have to flip the mattress; it stays comfortable where you first put it. Most latex mattresses can last more than 20 years.

Latex Mattresses are Expensive – Latex mattresses are among the more expensive mattresses, although they come with many benefits’ vs traditional mattresses. Look for a mattress company that offers affordable payment plans.
